• Last week to get yourself put on the electoral roll of the village
  To do so you can go to the town hall secretariat with your ID and a proof of domicile on Tuesdays and Fridays between 1 and 6 pm.
• Visit from Father Christmas
  For the next to last school day before the holidays the pupils of the village school have had a surprise visit from Father Christmas.
• Over 3’700 euros for the Telethon 2011!
  Grouped together in one evening at the village hall this Saturday the finish of the walk coming from Reignier and the traditional onion soup have attracted a large crowd.

• TO SEE AT THE MOMENT at the town hall an exhibition about the “local institutions”
  Originating from an idea carried by the Association of the Former Mayors and Deputy Mayors of Haute-Savoie, the conception falling to the Association of the Former Mayors and deputy mayors of département Ardèche, an exhibition about the “local institutions” is available free of charge at the town hall.
• Acknowledgements evening for the volunteers of the third historic climb
  A fondue evening took place in the village hall on this Friday to thank all the various actors, town councillors, volunteers, farmers, race stewards etc involved into the organization of the third historic climb La Muraz place name Cologny with an arrival in Le Feu.
• A salon shared for the sake of beauty!
  The centre of the commune features a restaurant, a café, a grocery, a bakery, a hairdresser but a string to its bow was missing. Now it’s done with a beauty salon facility.
• Birth of an events committee
  All done, the events committee of the commune of La Muraz has just seen the light.

• Dump of bulky items
  Saturday 29 October 2011 from 8am to 6pm only: skips available for bulky items (fridge, cooker, mattress, scrap iron, etc.)
• General assembly of the Sport and Leisure Association
  The Sport and Leisure Association has recently held its general meeting in the meeting room. About 20 members were present.
• General meeting of the Pupils’ Parents
  The association of the Pupils’ Parents (A.P.E.) of the local school had its general meeting on Tuesday night.

• The firework display is definitely happening!
  Due to the bad weather (a lingering rain being the surprise guest) and the security problems resulting from it (electrical risks for the pyrotechnists and a strong wind which might divert the rockets) the town hall had decided to cancel the firework on 13 July.

• A new service in the village
  How many times did we get stuck in front our of computer screen without finding the solution to our problems?
• The third edition of the garage sale is coming up!
  Thanks to a bright sun the 2010 edition had attracted a large crowd and the volunteers who made sure everything went smoothly were delighted.

• Installation of a fireproof cupboard at the town hall
  The discussion had been started many times during council meetings, it was becoming essential to have a fireproof cupboard for the secretariat.
• Redoing of the meeting room into a classroom
  During the summer holidays the meeting room (next to the former village hall) will find a new fate: the conversion into a classroom with green and yellow colours following the teachers’ choice in the premises at the start of the new school year (picture opposite, meeting with the teaching staff, the council members and the architect).
• When nature becomes a passion…
  Mickaël Tissot is rather proud of his new activity: he has just created his own micro enterprise of activities and environmental education called ANIM’NATURE and offers theme outings.

• A pair of spectacles has been found!
  A pair of spectacles has been found and is currently at the town hall. Black-coloured and of Prada make the spectacles are not very strong and seem to be more a female type.
• Your bread baked in the commune bread oven!
  On Friday 1 July some bread baking will be organized around the oven with the precious co-operation of Fabrice Meunier, the village baker.
• The events committee is on the agenda.
  During a meeting at the town hall the setting up of an events committee has been proposed to the persons present.

• Positive energy families committed to the climate.
  Some families in the commune have embarked in the project “positive energy families” aiming at concretely implementing the Kyoto protocol.
• Roadworks and traffic stopped on the RD15.
  Since 9 May some road works following two subsidences on the No 15 département road (between La Muraz and Le Sappey) have been undertaken by the General Council of Haute-Savoie.
• Discovery of lambing for the younger school classes
  The younger school classes of the commune school (19 children in total) have lately discovered lambing (the time when ewes give birth) on the Retords plateau in the Ain department.
• Sixth edition of the Saleves mini-foot tournament, here we go!
  With the support of the communes of Monnetier-Mornex and La Muraz, as well as the Saleves football club the sixth edition of the mini tournament is on its way and set on 18 June.

• The raffle of the Oeuvres Laïques : an electrical bike won in our commune!
  From October to January of every school year the Fédération des Oeuvres Laïques (FOL: a non-profit-making organization linked with the education department) calls out to the schools for the sale of raffle tickets.
• The commune of La Muraz is hiring for its technical services.
  Job offer: Multi purpose servant for a season. Application to be sent before 30 April 2011.
• Green morning and dump of bulky items.
  We inform you that the Communauté de Communes Arve et Salève (a grouping of local authorities) will have skips available for bulky items (fridge, cooker, mattresses, scrap iron, etc...) on Saturday 9 April 2011 from 8am to 6pm only.

• Respect the animal and its environment!
  The general meeting of the big game hunters sport association of Haute-Savoie (ASDGGG74) held its assembly this Saturday in the village hall in the presence of Noël Jacquemoud, the mayor of the village, and numerous hunting personalities.
• Assessment of the 2010 mini tournament
  On a Tuesday in February the team organising the 2010 football mini tournament got together for an evening of results in full conviviality
• Ski galore for the school kids!
  During these first two winter months with a good amount of snow ski practice (both cross-country and Alpine skiing) was scheduled for the pupils of 6 to 10 of the village school.

• The North Africa veterans in a meeting
  The general assembly of the North Africa veterans has recently taken place in the village hall under the presidency of Emile Mermin.
• The collection of questionnaires is going strong…
  Our census taker, Madeleine Bovagne, warmly thanks the people who gave her the best welcome for the handing over, filling-in or returning of the papers. This helps to monitor the operation from beginning to end, a vital operation for our village.

• The 2011 census has already started ! Follow-up and end…
  We remind you that it is important to fill-in the documents handed over by the census taker selected for our village and to drop them in the town hall mailbox before 15 February 2011. It is essential that we receive all documents in return for the right order of this 2011 census survey.
• The 2011 census has already started!
  From 20 January to 19 February 2011 a census taker will visit you. To avoid the suspicions of the people being taken census of a note from the town hall has been delivered to the mailboxes of the persons concerned.
• Training for the use of the defibrillator
  The commune has acquired a defibrillator. This machine will be installed outside the town hall, a building located in the heart of the village and close to where people live (school, church, shops, various events...)
• Holidays hampers for our elderly
  Every year for the festivities of the end of the year a hamper is given away to the 65 and over living in the village.
